About North Coast Chamber Journal

The North Coast Chamber Journal is an independent magazine in American English about intensive summer study for young string players in northeast Ohio. It covers how a pre-college chamber music programme is put together: the application and the audition, tuition and financial aid, housing, the faculty, the daily schedule, and the concert season. It also covers what playing in a quartet asks of a student, and the community service that goes with it, from care homes and hospitals to prison visits and school concerts. In addition, it follows the musical life of Oberlin and the wider Cleveland area through the year.

The site is edited by The North Coast Chamber Journal editorial team. The articles are written from public sources, and each article names the sources it draws on. The site does not speak for any organisation. It reports on programmes, ensembles, and institutions in the third person. Where a detail is not confirmed by a public source, it is left out.
